General Info . Formerly of World of Music in Cupertino. . 24 Years of Teaching Experience. . 32 Years of Overall Playing Experience. . San Jose State University Bachelor of Arts in Sociology Products/Services . Guitar and Bass Lessons. . Specializes in Reading Notation and Music Theory. . Styles/Genres Taught: All periods/eras of Rock and Funk/R&B, Most types of Blues, Jazz, Country, and Beginning Classical. . Lessons for all ages. Masaru or Mas for short, received a BA degree in Improvised Music Studies from San Jose State University in 1995, where he intensively studied musical traditions of different cultures around the world. He has traveled, recorded and performed nationally. Mas has taught numbers of elementary and middle school music programs in the San Jose area. He is also the artistic director of SambAsia, a San Francisco-based community samba school, teaching and performing Brazilian drums. Mas' goal is to share music in a non-academic approach so that one can discover and enjoy his or her own connection to music in a personal way, without any performance or achievement anxiety. Mas also speaks Japanese.
Brian Pendleton Teaches Piano, Saxophone, Flute, and Clarinet on: Friday, Saturday and Sunday all ages Brian Pendleton graduated from California Polytechnic College with major in Aerospace Engineering in 1971. He has had 30 Years of professional playing experience with various Jazz and Pop groups, and began teaching in 1975. He is also the author of Learning Piano and associated piano books.
Steve Lin (www.linguitar.com) At present, Steve teaches guitar at San Jose State University. He is also a guitar instructor at Northern California School of Music and Canon Music School and maintains a private studio. Steve is completing his doctorate from New England Conservatory under Eliot Fisk. He earned his M.M. at Yale School of Music and his B.M. at NEC. His primary teachers have included Oscar Ghiglia, Lorenzo Micheli, Wei-Ren Chuang, Ronald Purcell, and Ronald Borczon. During his free time he enjoys spending too much time cooking and playing table tennis.
